Apply enough: Most people only apply 25–50% of the recommended amount. Use the "two-finger rule" for your face: squeeze enough product to cover the entire length of your index and middle fingers. For your entire body, use about 1 ounce (the size of a shot glass or a cupped handful). Dot it on: Instead of smearing it all at once, place small, even dots of sunscreen across your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin to ensure even coverage. Pat and press: Gently pat and press the sunscreen into your skin using upward, outward motions. Take care not to miss commonly forgotten spots like the ears, back of the neck, hairline, and the tops of your feet. Wait to absorb: Let the sunscreen dry and bind to your skin for at least 15 to 20 minutes before heading outdoors or applying makeup. Reapply: Sunscreen wears off. You should reapply it at least every two hours, and immediately after swimming, towel-drying, or breaking a sweat
